A mode detection switch is provided to detect the position of
the mechanism during tape loading and unloading. The
table below shows the relationship between the mode
switch and the mechanism.

6-7-3. Tape Feed Control During Continuous Shooting
When the deck is switched from REC mode to PAUSE
mode using the START/STOP keys, the tape is rewound by
a predetermined amount (REC PAUSE REVERSE), then
forwarded slightly (REC PAUSE FORWARD 1 ), and then
the tape stops. When REC mode is set the next time,
tracking is adjusted to the previously-recorded pattern (REC
PAUSE FORWARD 2) before recording begins.

In this way, the video and pilot signals are controlled so that
they continue in sequence on the tape to prevent the
playback image from being disrupted at the joints between
continuous shootings.
The amount of tape travel is controlled by measuring the
number of CFG of the pulses from the capstan motor.
Over-writing is carried out for 1 4 tracks to prevent non
recorded sections from being produced in the continuously
shot parts.
