10.2.2 Via WAN
If you wish to access the recorder via WAN, you will have the following 2 options:
1. Internet connection via a router or virtual server:
Open the main menu at the recorder (see chapter 8.1.6.1):

Setup
Network
Network
Enable the box “Obtain IP address automatically”.
The IP address, subnet mask and gateway are automatically assigned.
(If a DHCP server is available; otherwise please enter manually)
You will need the listed IP address for the web access.
If you use DHCP, please enable DHCP in both recorder and router.
Click on „Apply“.
Enter the recorder’s IP address and port in the router resp. virtual server.
Configure the firewall to allow accessing the recorder.
Note:
If you have enabled the UPnP function in both recorder and router (see chapter
8.1.6.6), you may skip this step.
If you want to use a Dynamic Domain Name, please apply for it at a DNS server.
Then add this name to the recorder or router.
Open your web browser.
Enter the IP address of the recorder into the address field.
Note:
The default HTTP port is 80. If you have changed the HTTP port (e.g. to 82), you
have to add it to the IP address when you enter it into your web browser.
Example: http://192.168.0.25:82
If you access the recorder via the web for the first time, an ActiveX plugin will be
downloaded automatically. Please accept the installation.
Once the ActiveX plugin has been installed successfully, a login window pops up:
User name:
Your user name for the recorder.
Password:
Your password for the recorder.
