OPERATING THE RECEIVER
5.3.5 TV Setup
This function sets the TV output mode.
●
Press the / key to select settings.
●
Press the / key to make your selection.
●
Aspect Ratio: 4:3 is for standard TVs and 16:9 is for
widescreen TVs.
●
Conversion: Depending on your TV format, you
select how 4:3 or 16:9 tranmissions will display on
your TV.
If you selected 4:3 above:
Letter Box
- the whole of the transmitted video is visible, with black horizontal bars above a
below.
Pan Scan
- only the center portion on the transmitted video fills the screen.
If you selected 16:9 above:
Pillar Box
- the whole of the transmitted video is visible, with black vertical bars left and right.
Stretch
- the transmitted video is stretched horizontally to fill the screen.
RED
key: Return to the settings menu.
BLUE
key: Apply changes.
5.3.6 Audio Setup
The “Audio Setup” option allows the user to select the
desired Audio settings.

Press the / key to select setup items.
●
Select the audio settings with the / key.
●
Audio Type (Dolby Digital(5.1) or PCM): This setting
controls the digital audio output from the connector
marked “DIGITAL AUDIO OUT OPTICAL”.
Select “Dolby Digital(5.1)” if your equipment has
Dolby Digital decoding capabilities. The setting
PCM is for digital stereo sound.

Time Delay: If you have an HDTV, and you connect a separate audio system to the OPTICAL
AUDIO OUT connector on your receiver, you may have to adjust the delay setting. This
because the length of time your HDTV takes to display the video information may be slightly
greater than the time taken for the audio signal to reach the loudspeakers. To correct this
situation, a delay must be added to the audio signal, until “in sync” with the on-screen video.
RED
key: Return to the settings menu.
BLUE
key: Apply changes.
