Privacy settings
: Change the settings for allowing apps to use your private information.

: Activate or deactivate the PIN lock feature to require the PIN before using
the device.

Security update service
: Set the device to check and download security updates.

Secure erase
: Permanently delete all deleted data on the device for increased security.

Encrypt SD card
: Set the device to encrypt files on a memory card.
If you reset your device to the factory defaults with this setting enabled, the device
will not be able to read your encrypted files. Disable this setting before resetting the
device.
Private mode
Hide personal content in your device to prevent others from accessing it.
Activating private mode

On the Settings screen, tap

, and then tap the
Private mode
switch to activate it.
If you are activating private mode for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions to
set up a private mode access code.
