Switching off the microphone (Mute)
You can temporarily switch off your phone’s
microphone so that the person on the phone cannot
hear you.
Example: You wish to say something to a person in
the room, but do not want the person on
the phone to hear you.
To switch the microphone off temporarily:
1. Press the Options soft key.
2. Select Mute and press the Select soft key.
The person can no longer hear you.
To switch the microphone back on:
1. Press the Options soft key.
2. Select Unmute and press the Select soft key.
The person can hear you again.
Muting or sending key tones
Mute keys and Send keys options allow you to
turn the key tones off or on.
If Mute keys is selected, your phone does not
transmit the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency)
tones of the keys, which allows you to press keys
without hearing annoying key tones during a call.
To communicate with answering machines or
computerised telephone systems, Send keys must
be selected.
