CREATE PROGRAMMED STATION
MESSAGES
[MMC 715]
Programmed messages can be selected by a station user to inform other users of their current
status (e.g. “In a Meeting”). The message displays on the user‘s keyset and also on any calling
keyset which has a display. You can edit existing (default) messages if necessary, and set up new
ones to suit your working environment.
Programmed messages can also be used for
text messaging
. Text messaging allows a busy sta-
tion to request some action from another station which is attempting to voice announce or camp-on
a call to the busy station. For example, the user can request the calling station to “Take a Mes-
sage,” or “Ask them to Hold,” or some other user-defined action.
There are 15 messages (01–15) allowed in the system. Messages
01–10
are pre-programmed as
follows, but can be changed by the administrator if necessary:
01 GIVE ME THE CALL
02 TAKE A MESSAGE
03 ASK THEM TO HOLD
04 SEND TO MY VOICE MAIL
05 TRSF TO MY SECY
06 LEAVE A MESSAGE
07 PAGE ME
08 OUT OF TOWN
09 IN A MEETING
10 I WILL CALL BACK
Messages
11–15
are blank for new messages to be created (up to 16 characters).
After programming these messages, inform station users what they are.
Open customer programming and follow these instructions.
