11. Installation
Reuse existing refrigerant lines
To retrofit the outdoor unit by using the existing piping, be sure to:
•
Confirm that the existing pipe diameter, length, and height difference between outdoor and indoor
unit meet the requirements listed above.
•
Confirm that the maximum pressure for the indoor unit is equal or higher than the maximum pressure
for the outdoor unit.
•
Confirm that the indoor unit is compatible with R410A, and utilizes a Thermostatic Expansion Valve
(TXV). If existing indoor unit utilizes an orifice plate, replace the orifice plate with a R410A TXV.
•
Flush the inside of the piping to remove moisture, oil and any other foreign matter.
•
Make sure to install a two-way filter dryer on the liquid pipe referring to the figure below.
•
Make sure to remove the transparent covers at the edge of the pipes before connecting the pipes.
