Section 2A: Your Phone - The Basics
handset’s physical location to be communicated to the 911
response or emergency agency (PSAP – Public Safety
Answering Point) while the 911 call is in progress. This
approximation of the location of the handset and/or
transmittal of location information is subject to emergency
situations, transmission limits, network problems or
limitations, problems associated with interconnecting
carriers, your handset, buildings, tunnels, signal strength and
atmospheric or topographical conditions, and may be
interrupted, dropped, refused, limited, or curtailed.
This handset may permit its location to be approximated
during a 911 emergency call. The Federal Communications
Commission has mandated this location capability.
Availability of this feature is dependent upon upgrades to
both the wireless network and the 911 calling system that
are required to be installed by the local 911 response agency
or PSAP. These upgrades may not be available everywhere
within our wireless coverage area or while roaming, which
limits availability of this feature.
The location of the handset is only an approximation, it is not
exact and is intended only to aid the PSAP in dispatching
emergency assistance or to limit the area over which
emergency services personnel need to search for the handset.
You should not rely solely on a handset for any essential
communication, medical emergency or any other emergency.
STi Mobile is not liable for any service limits, failures and / or
outages, including without limitation, the failure of a 911
emergency call to be connected or completed. Location
services, including 911 location services may not be available
in your area and are subject to service limitations.
