8. Commissioning
We recommend that the Cleanskid is first com-
missioned by nearest Salmson’s customer ser-
vice agent or ask your central customer service
department.
8.1 General preparation and checking
The balancing valve (pos. 9) controls the dif-
ferential pressure and adjusts the opening
cross-section to maintain the flow at the preset
value. The values given in the table below are set
in the factory.
• Before switching on for the first time, check the
wiring has been done correctly on site, particu-
larly the earthing.
• Check that the pipe connections are stress-free.
8.2 Filling, degassing
WARNING! Never operate the circulator without
water.
• Close the quarter-turn flush valve (pos. 6) and
the vent valve (pos. 11).
• Open the degasser isolating valve (pos. 8).
• Open the valves on the module inlet (pos. 15 and
18) to fill with water.
• After complete filling, open the module outlet
valve (pos. 17).
• Top up the water in the network.
• Check the tightness of the threaded connections.
8.2 Commissioning the installation
After all preparations and checks according to
section 8.1 have been done, switch on the main
switch.
ATTENTION! Do not let the circulator operate
with delivery valve closed beyond one minute.
The operating flow is adjusted automatically by
the dynamic balancing valve (pos. 9).
Place the polar magnetic elements (pos. 4) along
the guide supports on the separator housing.
9. Maintenance
The separator of the Cleanskid is static. It has no
moving parts and so need no special servicing.
For the pump and control unit, we recommend
strict compliance with the instructions in their
respective manual.
9.1 Emptying
We recommend flushing once a day for the first
15 days after commissioning, once or twice a
week thereafter.
ATTENTION! Risk of burns!
In operation, the motor temperature may exceed
100°C.
To flush the system, proceed as follows:
• Stop the circulator.
• Close the isolating valves (pos. 15 and 17)
upstream and downstream of the device.
• Move the polar magnetic elements (pos. 4) away
from the separator housing (pos. 3).
• Open the flush valve (pos. 6).
• Open the vent valve (pos. 11) (allows rapid flush-
ing of the device).
• After everything has flowed out, close the vent
valve (pos. 11).
• Open valve (pos. 17) for a few seconds (pressure
cleaning of the device).
• Close the flush valve (pos. 6).
• Replace the polar magnetic elements (pos. 4)
along the separator housing (pos. 3).
• Make sure that the bleed isolating valve (pos. 8)
is open.
• Open the valve (pos. 15) upstream of the device.
• When the device is completely filled, open the
valve (pos. 17) downstream of the device.
• Top up the water in the network.
• Start the circulator.
