When one or more vertical lines appear on transmitted copies or faxes, do the following steps:

For an aptimum scanning quality, make sure that the glass of the flat-bed scanner is clean.
Clean the glass with a solt lint-free cloth soaked with alcohol.
&OHDQLQJWKHSULQWHU
Dust, dirt and paper debris on the outer surfaces and inside the printer can interfere with printer
performance. Clean the printer regularly.
Caution -
Use a soft cloth to clean the printer. Never use abrasives or corrosive detergents.
The fusing unit can become very hot during operation. Do not touch the area to avoid injury. Wait
for at least 10 minutes after the printer has been turned off and make sure that the fusing unit has
cooled before cleaning the interior of the printer.

Open the scanning cover of the
sheet-feed scanner by pressing
the open key (A).

Clean the transparent scanning
glass (B) with a soft lint-free cloth
soaked with alcohol.

Close the scanning cover.
+
Make a copy in order to make
sure that the symptoms are gone.
