SIMPLIFIED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Circuit Breakers And GFCI

The 120 VAC system has two important safety mechanisms. First, a set of circuit breakers
prevents any circuit from being overloaded. A breaker can be tripped as the result of a
short circuit, a faulty appliance, or too many appliances being run on the same circuit. The
system is divided into several separate circuits which decrease the load on each and allow
other circuits to operate in the event one becomes inoperable.
