MAINTENANCE
Generally speaking the inset fire should undergo a thorough maintenance at least once a year if the appliance is used
frequently. We recommend carrying out smaller maintenance work such as removing ashes and cleaning the glass at
more regular intervals. Note that the insert may only be cleaned when it is cooled down.
Removing ashes
The ashes can be removed by means of the ash scoop and the wood poker.
SUGGESTION
The few ashes that remain after combustion will form a protective layer between the
bottom of the appliance and the hearth. Moreover a “combustion in the ashes” will get the
maximum of energy out of your fuel. Therefore always leave a 1cm bed of ashes.
Cleaning the flue
Flue dust and ashes must be removed from the flue every year. To do this the smoke deflector must be removed
from the appliance.
Cleaning painted surfaces
Dust the remaining ashes from the painted parts using a soft hand brush or cotton cloth. Never
wash the appliance with water! This can cause rust.
