Most common FXR seat installation method- The Hinge

Two-up seat installation- Using the bike's hinge

See Fig. A. The bottom of your new seat pan includes four threaded inserts,

which allow it to bolt to the stock hinge and latch mechanisms on your FXR.
- Take off the stock seat by removing two bolts for the hinge, and two bolts for

the latch mechanism, from the bottom of the seat.
- Replace it with your new Saddlemen seat, using the new bolts and washers

provided.
- Adjust the position of the seat and hardware, making sure the latch mecha-

nism works correctly. Tighten the four bolts, approximately 10 lb/ft.

Two-up seat installation- No hinge

To install a seat on an FXR without using the hinge, you'll need to obtain an

FXR Front Mounting Bracket, Saddlemen part number 14302 (see Fig. C).

Ask your dealer or call Saddlemen directly (310-638-1222) for this bracket.
- Remove the stock seat, hinge and latch mechanism from your motorcycle.
- Your Saddlemen seat includes a rear mounting tab. Most seats are shipped

with this tab reversed, in the shipping position. You may need to remove the

two Allen bolts holding it on, and reinstall the bracket with the tongue in the

installation position (see Fig. B).

- Install the FXR Front Mounting Bracket onto the two holes in the motorcycle

frame near the gas tank (see Fig. C).
- Check all fasteners for tightness, 10 -to- 15 ft/lbs torque is recommended,

do not overtighten.
- Your new Saddlemen seat installs to your bike by inserting the front seat tab

(already installed on your seat) into the new front mounting bracket. Once

you've inserted the front tab into the bracket, carefully lower the rear of the

seat and line up the rear mounting tab with the threaded insert in your bike's

rear fender.
- Use a suitable seat screw to secure the rear mounting tab to your bike's

fender.
- Check all fasteners for tightness, 10 -to- 15 ft/lbs torque is recommended,

do not overtighten.
