ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: To prevent the saw starting accidentally and possibly causing serious personal injury, fit all accessories
to your saw before plugging it into a power socket. Always unplug your saw before fitting parts, making adjustments,
attaching or removing a blade, cleaning or when you are not using your saw.
As previously mentioned, your saw has been factory assembled and adjusted. The bevel lock handle, dust deflector and
blade are the only accessories that have to be fitted.
9.1
MITRE LOCK HANDLE
See Figure 7.
To install the mitre lock handle, place the threaded end of the mitre lock handle into the threaded hole in the control arm.
Turn clockwise to tighten.

DUST DEFLECTOR
See Figure 8.
To fit the dust deflector, place the end marked INSERT over the extractor port on the upper blade guard. Turn the dust
deflector so that the open end is facing downwards or towards the rear of the saw.

FITTING THE BLADE
See Figures 9, 10, and 11.
WARNING: Your saw can handle blades of a maximum diameter of 250 mm (10”). Never use a blade that is too
thick for the outer blade washer to engage on the flat of the arbor. Larger blades will hit the blade guard, while blades
that are too thick will prevent the blade clamping screw from properly clamping the blade to the arbor. In either case,
an accident could result causing serious personal injury.
•
Unplug your saw.
WARNING: Failure to unplug your saw could result in the saw starting accidentally and cause serious personal injury.
•
To release the saw arm, push down on the saw arm and pull out the locking pin. Raise the saw arm until it is fully up.
Take care as the saw arm is spring-loaded and rises automatically.
•
Loosen the cruciform screw on the cover over the blade clamping bolt until the cover can be raised. See Figure 9.
•
Gently raise the lower blade guard bracket, so that the lower blade guard and blade clamping bolt cover can be rotated
to access the blade clamping bolt. See Figure 9.
•
Press the arbor lock button in and rotate the blade bolt until the arbor locks. See Figure 11.
•
Using the blade spanner provided, unscrew and remove the blade clamping bolt.
Note: The blade clamping bolt is left hand threaded. Turn the blade clamping bolt clockwise to loosen it.
•
Remove the outer blade washer. Do not remove the inner blade washer.
WARNING: If the inner blade washer has been removed, put it back in place before fitting the blade to the arbor.
If the inner blade washer is missing, the blade cannot be clamped correctly, which may cause an accident.
•
Fit the saw blade inside the blade guard and onto the arbor. The teeth on the blade should point downwards at the front
of the saw as shown in Figure 10.
CAUTION: Always fit the blade with the teeth and the arrow printed on the side of the blade pointing down
at the front of the saw. The direction of rotation of the blade is also marked by an arrow on the upper blade guard.
•
Put the outer blade washer back in place. The flats on the blade washers engage with the flat on the arbor.
•
Press the arbor lock button in and put the blade clamping bolt back in.
Note: The blade clamping bolt is left hand threaded. Turn the blade clamping bolt anticlockwise to tighten it.
•
Tighten the blade clamping bolt securely.
•
Remove the blade spanner and keep it in a safe place for the next time.
