System Setup for Measurement:
•
To set the focal point of the lens to the area being measured, follow the steps below.
•
Click the Overview icon (see page 11).
•
Move the area of interest of your object to the crosshair on screen.
•
Exit Overview by pressing the Overview button again.
•
Zoom in to
full magnification.
•
Bring the object into focus by manually adjusting the height of the INSPEX II on the stand
until the image is in focus.
•
The focal point of the INSPEX II is now set to the height of the area of interest on your
object.
•
DO NOT manually adjust the height of the object or the height of the INSPEX II.
•
You can now zoom out from full magnification (via zoom out icon) until the area you wish to
measure can be viewed.
•
You can now zoom in and out freely to take measurements of areas on the same plane as
the focal point. The INSPEX II will automatically adjust the measurement value as you zoom.
For best accuracy at low magnifications, try to align the area being measured to the center third of
the screen.
•
If you wish to measure another area of interest which is at a different height/plane, then the
focal point will need to be set again.
•
In the image (Fig. 15)
above
, the focal point has been set to measure Plane A. If the object is
moved so that Plane B is within the field of view, then the Focal point will need to be set
again for Plane B
before
you can measure.
