Brake adjustment (pic. 9)
The brake shoe can be adjusted if the braking force lessens as a result of wear on the wheels.
The brakes must be adjusted so that both wheels brake evenly. The distance between
the brake pad and the wheel surface should be about 2–3 mm.
1.
Loosen the locking nut.
2.
Adjust the braking force by turning the brake cable spanner inwards or outwards.
3.
Check the braking function by turning the wheels and operating the brake levers.
The wheels should turn freely but stop immediately when the brakes are applied. When the
brake activated, the wheels shall not be possible to move.
4.
Tighten the locking nut firmly again.
Seat
Activate the parking brake before you sit on the seat. Always sit fully on the seat with your back in the direction of travel.
Do not lean against the seat! Do not lean over the sides or backwards while sitting on the rollator. That could impair the
stability of the Rollator. Do not use the seat on a sloping surface. Ensure that the front wheels are parallel to the direction
of walking.
The seat has been tested for a user weight of up to 150 kg.
Backrest
The back strap forms the back of the seat and supports a relaxed sitting position. The backrest is mounted on the height
adjustable handlebars. Depending on the selected height of the handlebars, the backrest is also in a higher or lower setting
The back strap has only been designed for fixing to the elan classic rollator.
Do not pull or carry the rollator by the backrest; do not put any jackets, bags or similar items over it since the backrest
could be damaged by the weight.
If you wish to take a short break with your rollator look for a place with a level surface. Apply the brakes of the rollator
firmly. Turn around slowly. Lower yourself slowly and steadily onto the seat. Do not lean over the sides or backwards when
you are seated. Your body’s centre of gravity should always at the centre of the seat. Always keep your feet on the ground
when seated.
The back strap provides light support when you are seated but it is not suitable for use as a backrest like on a conventional
chair. Sit upright; you can for example rest your elbows on the hand grips. Avoid leaning against the back strap with your
full weight.
Negotiating obstacles with the support of the step aid
Tread on the step aid in order to raise the front wheels of the Rollator so that you can negotiate
a doorstep, kerb or another obstacle more easily (pic. 10).
Care and Maintenance
Rollator
The Rollator may only be used as a walking aid. Keep the Rollator free from dirt, so that it remains functional. The Rollator can
be cleaned with a neutral cleaning agent and a cloth and then rinsed and dried. Dry the Rollator thoroughly after cleaning or
exposure to rain. The brake pads and springs should also be cleaned regularly. The Rollator should only be disinfected by a
specialist. The product can be disinfected with a disinfectant with 70–80 percent ethanol content. Disinfectants containing
chlorine or phenol should not be used. Do not use caustic solvents.
Do not use the Rollator in temperatures below –35 °C or above +60 °C. Apart from small corrections on the
paintwork, changing wheels or adjusting the brakes all repairs should be carried out by a specialist retailer.
Send your rollator for regular checks to your dealer. He will be able to detect any wear and tear and replace
parts, if necessary. If you find the brake action to be faulty in any way, please contact your dealer immediately.

Small items can be carried conveniently in the bag. The bag is designed to carry up to 5 kg. It can be hung up and removed
again easily using the integrated loops.
