CLEANING THE ESPRESSO BOILER OUTLET
At least twice a year, it is necessary to
clean the outlet of the espresso boiler in
the following manner:
Check that the espresso maker is cool
and the plug is detached from the wall
power outlet.
Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screw
in the outlet of the espresso boiler.
Carefully remove the screw, shower
head, spring and pressure valve.These
parts can all be washed in warm soapy
water and rinsed thoroughly.
Extra care should be taken to clear
the holes around the side of the outlet
screw.
Using a damp cloth, clean the boiler outlet.
Refit the parts into the espresso boiler outlet.
DESCALING
It is advisable to clean the scale from the appliance at least once a year.
CLEANING PROCEDURE
Dissolve 2 teaspoons of citric acid in 1 litre of water. Add solution to water tank.
Press the ON/OFF switch to the
ON
position. Select
(coffee) mode. Wait until
the
(Ready) lamp illuminates.
Check that the filter holder is not attached and place a container under the boiler outlet.
Press the pump START/STOP switch to
START
and allow half of the solution in the tank
to flow out. Press the pump START/STOP switch to
STOP
.
Allow solution to sit for approx 15 minutes. Press the pump START/STOP switch to
START
and run until the tank level reaches the
MIN
level.
To flush out the remains of the solution and the scale, remove the tank, rinse well, fill
with clean water and refit.
Press the pump START/STOP switch to
START
, and allow half of the solution in the
tank to flow out. Press the pump START/STOP switch to
STOP
. Wait a few minutes and
repeat until the tank reaches the
MIN
level.
Repeat the previous 2 steps.
