When using your Espresso Maker, basic safety precautions should be followed, including 
but not limited to the following:

IMPORTANT SAFEGAURDS:

1. 

 This appliance uses steam under pressure. Improper use may result in a scalding injury.

2. 

To protect against electrical hazards do not immerse the power cord, plug or appliance in water or 
any other liquid.

3. 

 Do not use in a bathroom or near any source of water.

4. 

 Do not use outdoors.

5. 

 This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, 
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given 
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 

6. 

 This appliance is not a toy. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with this 
appliance.

7. 

 Sit the espresso maker on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.

8. 

 Do not leave the espresso maker unattended while plugged in and switched on. Always monitor 
when in use.

9. 

Do not touch hot surfaces.

10. 

When using the milk frother always keep your fingers away from the steam.

11. 

Use only clean, cold, fresh water. Do not fill the water tank with milk or any other liquid.

12. 

Do not fill above the ‘MAX’ mark indicated on the water tank.

13. 

Keep the appliance and power cord away from the edge of countertops and out of reach of 
children and infirmed persons. 

14. 

Keep the appliance and power cord away from hotplates, all hot surfaces and burners.

15. 

Route the power cord so it doesn’t overhang, and cannot be tripped over or caught.

16. 

Do not use the espresso maker near or below curtains or other combustible materials.

17. 

Do not place the appliance under cupboards, shelves or anything that might be damaged by heat 
or steam.

18. 

Unplug the espresso maker when not in use, before moving or cleaning. Let it cool down before 
cleaning and storing away.

19. 

Use only accessories or attachments supplied for specific use with the Russell Hobbs espresso 
maker.

20. 

Do not use the espresso maker for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.

21. 

There are no user serviceable parts. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the 
manufacturer or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

22. 

Do not operate this appliance with a damaged power cord/plug or after the appliance has 
malfunctioned, or been dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for 
examination, adjustment, repair or replacement.

23. 

To disconnect, turn off the wall power outlet then grasp the plug and remove from wall power 
outlet. Never pull by the cord.

24. 

Never install the espresso maker in an environment that can reach a temperature less than or 
equal to 0°C. If the water freezes, the espresso maker may be damaged.

25. 

This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate control system.
