11.2 MAINTENANCE OF THE GUIDE BAR
Invert the bar occasionally to prevent partial wear. The
bar guide should always be symmetrical. Check that the
bar guide is not worn out. Apply a ruler on the bar,
outside, and if you notice a distance between the bar and
the ruler, then it is worn out.

When the guide bar is disassembled, remove the sawdust from the bar channel and the
oil hole. Grease the chain wheel through the feed hole at the tip of the bar.

11.3 SHARPENING THE CHAIN
For smooth and safe operation it is important to keep the chain teeth always sharp.
Teeth must be sharp when:
• The sawdust turns to powder.
• Use more force to cut.
• The cut cannot be made straight.
• Vibration increases.
• Fuel consumption increases.
ATTENTION !
Be sure to use suitable gloves when handling the
chain.
Before sharpening :

Make sure the chain is securely fastened. Make sure the
engine is turned off.
▪
Use a round size file suitable for your chain.
▪
Put the file on the teeth of the chain and push straight ahead.
