Check that the spark plug mounting was in proper condition and insert the
spark plug by hand threading to avoid dam damage.
NOTE:
When mounting a new spark plug, after placing the spark plug on the seat, tighten the
half turn that compresses the mounting washer. If a used spark plug is reassembled, it
will tighten 1 / 8-1 / 4 laps.
PRECAUTION:
Make sure the spark plug has been tightened firmly. Improperly tight spark plugs can
become hot and possibly defecate the engine. Never use a spark plug with improper
heating.
