Troubleshooting
You’ve
got everything plugged in and ready to go, but there’s one little problem that isn’t
quite right? Check below to see if
they’ve
got a fix for it. If not, please contact the team on
they’ll
be able to get you fully up and running.
Calibration Off
If the chair is turning when you are looking straight forward, or you have to turn your head
quite far to be able to turn the chair, it could be that the calibration is off.
To reset it, you can do a couple of things. The easiest one would be to take the headset off
–
this breaks the connection with the IR sensor and will take the chair out of headtracking
mode, so that it does not turn if you were to get off the chair.
From there, make sure that the user is sat in the chair facing straight forwards, and push the
button on the side of the headtracker again to put it back into headtracking mode. The user
must wait until the two beeps have stopped before turning their head. Any movement
before will throw off the calibration of the headtracker.
Picture Not Clear
If you’ve plugged the headset in correctly and the picture is showing up with green lines, red
dots, or is just not clear? You will need to add the HDMI repeater to the chair.
Pull the HDMI cable for the headset out of the stem, add the repeater to the end of the
cable, and plug it back into the stem again. From there, you will need to reset the base by
flicking the switch off and on again, as this resets all the connections in the chair.
Should this not help, please get in touch and we will be able to assist you further.
Devices Not Registering
Once the headset has been set up, it’s worth opening Steam VR, as this will bring up the
small headset screen at the bottom. If the device is detecting the points (HTC Vive/Rift CV1)
but the device
isn’t showing as registering, it’s worth plugging the headset directly into the
PC to ensure that all of the connections work.
If it registers on the PC, it is then worth moving each cable over one by one, ensuring that
the connection comes back up after each cable is moved. You may also need to restart your
PC/Steam VR, as well as the chair, as resetting connections can also help in detecting the
headset.
Should this not work, please contact us and we can look into this further for you.
