TES9 Software User Manual (Iss. 04)
Configuration
When a Constant Data module is selected for configuration in the main TES9Set menu.
Each of the menu items is described in the following sections.
Data IDs
The Data ID and Secondary Data ID specify the hexadecimal values to be used for the
corresponding fields in the encoded Ancillary Data Packet, as defined by SMPTE 291M.
Line Selection
For Line Selection, radio buttons are used to select the chroma or luma channel. The VANC line
is selected using a pull down list.
Constant Data
Currently, four types of constant data are supported, as follows:
• Audio Metadata for Stereo 2+2
• Audio Metadata for 5.1 Surround
• Audio Metadata for Stereo 2+2 with SAP
• Audio Metadata for 5.1 Surround with SAP
Clicking on the radio button selects the type of metadata. Clicking on None disables the Constant
Data Module.
Conditional Insertion
If this check box is not checked, then the Constant Data will always be inserted, and any upstream
VANC packets with the same DID/SDID will be deleted.
If this check box is checked, then the Constant Data will only be inserted if there is not already an
upstream VANC packet with the same DID/SDID. Therefore, if there is an upstream VANC
packet with the same DID/SDID, it will be allowed to pass through and the new constant data will
not be inserted.
Note
— TES9 containing software with part number 36-10607-01 revision A or B do not
support the last two constant data types in the above list or the Conditional Insertion
feature. When TES9Set is being used to configure TES9s containing one of these two
versions of software, the Constant Data Module Configuration menu will only contain the
features that are available.
