RACES
Lateral braces, typically used at corner conditions, resist forces in the lateral direction of a RoofScreen. They are
designed to connect to the top of the vertical tube on a frame being braced, to the low end of an adjacent frame.
If Lateral Braces are being used, locate tubes labeled “LB”. On each tube, install a C12 Field Connector on the
crimped end as shown in Figure 10.
Install a C12 Field Connector and a C15 End Connector on the low end of the frame adjacent to the braced frame
as illustrated in Figure 10. Slip the crimped end of the brace tube with the C12 Connector attached, onto the
vertical tube of the frame being braced, but do not fasten it with screws at this point. Hold the low end of the
brace tube next to the C15 Connector installed on the low end of the vertical tube of the adjacent frame, and mark
the tube to be cut so it will slip all the way into the fitting.
Cut the brace tube to the marked length and slip it into the C15 Connector (this may require sliding the C12
Connector on the upper end of the tube up slightly to allow it to insert into the C15 Connector at the lower end.
Once the lateral brace is in position, secure the fittings with S10 Tek3 Screws and tighten the bolts (see Figure 11).
