2.1 Using the Measurement Wizard
The measurement wizard allows you to combine several individual measurement
configurations to a sequence of measurements (or measurement set). Because all
relevant parameters have been set prior to the actual measurement and cannot be
changed once the measurement procedure has begun, the wizard is a good way to
avoid mistakes and save time when setting up measurements.
This chapter describes the functionality of the measurement wizard. For a more
comprehensive guide see the Operating Manual.
Note that it is necessary to install and use the R&S ZVHView software package if you
want to access the measurement wizard.
2.1.1 Defining Measurement Sets
Before you can use the measurement wizard you have to define a measurement set
with the R&S ZVHView software package and transfer it to the R&S ZVH.
A measurement set consists of several datasets. A dataset is a file that contains the
settings of a specific R&S ZVH configuration, e.g. frequency, scaling etc.. To get hold
of a dataset, set up the R&S ZVH as you need and save the configuration, or use one
of the predefined datasets.
For more information on datasets see "
Saving and Recalling Results and Settings
" on
page 73 and the operating manual.
► Start the R&S ZVHView software on your PC.
► Select the "Wizard Set Editor" with the
button.
In the dialog that opens, you can, for example,
-
combine several datasets to a measurement set
-
specify instructions about the measurement procedure
-
define cable characteristics
-
define the calibration method.
► Set up the measurement set as you like by adding or removing datasets and by
adding instructions for each stage of the measurement.
► Save the measurement set. The file type of a measurement set is *.mdf.
