Operating the appliance
The appliance is designed for a max. continuous operating
time of 3 minutes. If this time has been reached, the
appliance has to cool down for at least 2 minutes. If this will
not be observed, the motor might be damaged!
1.) Preparing the appliance for use
• Wind the power cord from the cord take-up on the underside of the base unit and feed it
through the recess on the edge of the housing.
• Make sure that the grinding plunger is inserted correctly.
• Place the beans container on the base unit. Make sure that the container is correctly inserted
(see page 20 "Mounting/dismounting the beans container"). Open the lid of the beans con-
tainer and fi ll with whole, roasted beans. Fill the container to a maximum of 1 cm below the
edge of the container. The maximum fi lling quantity is 220 g (depending on the beans used).
• Close the lid of the beans container.
• Place the powder container with the lid on and with open silicone closure beneath the pow-
der outlet channel. Make sure that the powder container is positioned stable in the round
recess.
NOTE:
The appliance is equipped with a safety system. The appliance will only work if the
beans container is placed correctly!
2.) Connecting the appliance to the mains
• Connect the mains plug into a suffi ciently fused power socket.
The connection of the appliance to the mains is confi rmed with a signal tone.
• A brief check of the electronics is performed.
All available displays light up in the control panel for approx. one second.
• After the check has been completed, the appliance is in standby mode.
The display fi eld and the backlighting of the sensor keys are not active.
3.) Switching on the appliance (operation mode)
• Briefl y touch the
ON/START/STOP
sensor key to switch the appliance to operation
mode.
Touching the sensor key is confi rmed by a signal tone.
The last selected setting appears in the display fi eld.
The backlighting of the sensor keys is active.
NOTE:
If no further operation of a sensor key is performed within 2 minutes, the appliance
automatically switches to standby mode. By tapping the
ON/START/STOP
sensor key, the
appliance can be returned to operation mode.
