Notes on operation
Keep-warm zone
The appliance has a keep-warm zone next to the grill plate, which is marked with lines. The surface temperature
in this area is half the temperature of the grill surface during operation. In this zone you can keep warm
the ready cooked food. The optimum temperature of the warming zone is reached after a grilling time of
approx. 15 - 20 minutes at medium temperatures.
Grilling
• Preheat the appliance for 4 - 6 minutes to the desired temperature.
• The food to be grilled can be placed directly on the Ceran
®
surface. We recommend oiling the grill
surface slightly before grilling unmarinated meat or vegetables.
• Marinated food generates smoke. Therefore, the recommended maximum temperature of 240 °C should
not be exceeded during searing.
• Meat should be started at a high temperature level. After several seconds, the pores are sealed and you
can reduce the temperature to approx. 220 °C - 240 °C.
• Do not put sugar, honey, syrup or other food and ingredients with a high sugar content on the Ceran
®
grill. This includes e. g. ketchup, some gill sauces (see contents on the bottle), bananas and canned fruit.
•
Healthy grilling:
During grilling you can clean the grill surface by shoving away any food residues into
the lateral fat-collecting channel with the provided scraper.
Important:
Protect your hands with pot
holders or oven gloves.
•
Low-fat grilling:
The Ceran
®
grill features a lift-up foot, which permits a slant position towards the
fat-collecting channel in order to allow low-fat grilling. This foot is attached underneath the appliance
and is easy to lift up and lock in place.
• Do not use vessels, scraper or cutlery made of plastic material, since they can melt and damage the
Ceran
®
surface. Do not use sharp objects (e.g. forks, knives) on the grill plate and do not place
aluminium foil on it. We recommend using cooking utensils made of wood.
• You can move your ready grilled food in the keep-warm zone, which is on the right-hand side of the grill
plate and marked with stripes.
