Integrating the laser system

The following integration interfaces are available for integrating your laser system: -X28, -X42,
-X42a, X42b and -X46. The interface -XC3a, located on the PC, is an extension of the I/O control
signals which can be directly controlled in the marking program VisualLaserMarker (VLM).
For information on the laser system's dimensions, see Section "4.12, Integration drawings" on
page 59 as well as the "Technical data" section in the operating manual of the laser system.
Customer-specific modifications are possible.

4.1

Interfaces for laser control (-X42a and -X28)

These interfaces partly have identical functions. The -X28 interface is located on the front of the laser
head. You need the -X42a or -X28 interface, e.g. for integrating another 'shutter open' warning
lamp. Moreover, the shutter will be opened and closed via these interfaces (shutter interlock) if the
laser is integrated into a production system.

Note

3

The -X28 interface (D-Sub 15) is available on request and is supplied with a jumper plug. The inter-
face is installed instead of the dummy panel on the front of the laser head. Please remove the jumper
plug before making the connection.
