Non-Contact Voltage Detection (NCV
• this function does not require the use of probes, the measurement
is carried out by the built-in NCV detector in the upper part
• turn main switch to NCV position
• bring the detector closer to the cable or the socket
• if an intermittent buzzer sound appears and the red diode
above the screen flashes and the display shows a symbol
of bars (one, two, or three - depending on the signal strength):
, it means that the tested circuit is live.
• Note, the signal strength depends on many factors, such
as insulation thickness, depth of cable hiding, environmental
humidity and electrical noise. Therefore, if the detector is not
signaling voltage, it does not mean that it is not there.
If you think the cable may be live, retest with another method.
Diode test
• put the black sampler in the slot
• put the positive, red test probe in the socket
• turn the main switch to position
• put the testers in parallel to the diode circuit
(red at the input), if the buzzer gives a signal,
it means working diode
• to measure the diode voltage, press the SEL button,
the diode icon will appear on the screen.
Take the measurement, the correct voltage value
is 500-800mV.
• If the coil circuit is broken or the polarity
is reversed, the meter shows OL.
• When measuring diodes, disconnect
the power from the device
and discharge the capacitors
Pomiar rezystancji
• put the black sampler in the slot
• put the positive, red test probe in the socket
• turn the main switch to position
• put the probes parallel to the perimeter
Symptoms
Possible causes and solutions
The display does not work
• turn on the device
• reverse the poles of the batteries
• change the batteries
Low battery symbol on the display
Replace the batteries
Current indication error
Blown fuse
Resistance error in the display
Poor probe to circuit connection
