Bit Setup and Use
Fig. 1
Fig. 2
THESE WARNINGS PERTAIN TO ALL REMAINING STEPS:
> To avoid serious injury, keep hands and fingers away from the
spinning router bit. Maintain awareness of the bit at all times.
> USE ONLY IN A VARIABLE-SPEED TABLE-MOUNTED
ROUTER WITH A WORKING FENCE. NEVER USE IN
A HANDHELD ROUTING APPLICATION.
> Turn off and unplug your router before
installing the bit or adjusting the
cutter height.
> To avoid bit slippage during use, make
sure to install the bit properly in the
router. Insert the bit in the collet until it
bottoms out; then back it out 1/16" to
1/8" and tighten the collet.
> Never use a router bit that is damaged
or dull.
> This router bit requires the use of a
fence with split faces. The bit must be
partly “buried” in the fence between
the halves of the split fence.
> ALWAYS use table featherboards to
make sure the workpiece stays tight
to to the fence as you move it past
the bit. Always use a push stick
to advance the workpiece
through the cut.
> Recommended operating speed for
this router bit is 18,000 rpm. Do not
exceed the recommended speed.
