A crane is a type of machine, generally equipped with a hoist,
wire ropes and chains, that can be used both to lift and lower
materials and to move them horizontally. It is mainly used for
lifting heavy things and transporting them to other places.
Let's assemble the Crane robot in this chapter. You can build
jib by using frame, and use a caterpillar (with rotation motors)
to move in any direction. Smart servo makes jib to go up and
down, and adjust the wire length to lift an object!
The first crane in Korea was developed by
Mr. Jeong Yak-yong during the Joseon dynasty.
Pulley helped lifting a heavy object with little
power. It used 4 fixed pulleys and movable
pulleys connected with wires. Then,
the wires were wind up with water-wheels.
I use a movable pulley and a
fixed pulley together.
It changes the power direction
and lifting power.
