AUXILIARY BATTERIES:
The two 6-volt auxiliary batteries are located in the engine
compartment on the driver side, (see Picture BP45).
Note: The white residue on the batteries is a rust and
corrosion preventative spray.
CAUTION: BATTERY ACID CAN BURN YOUR SKIN AND
DAMAGE YOUR CLOTHING. PROTECTIVE EYE WEAR
AND GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN WHEN HANDLING
OR MAINTAINING THE COACH BATTERIES.
Observe all battery warnings and caution labels.
NOTE:
Your vehicle is equipped with two(2) group GC-2, 6-
volt lead acid deep cycle auxiliary batteries. It is
recommended that the fluid levels be checked at least once
every month. See the battery manufacturers maintenance
recommendations.
REPLACING THE AUXILIARY BATTERIES:
Replacement batteries must be 6-volt, group GC-2 deep
cycle lead acid or equivalent.
Ensure that the battery cable hex nuts are tightened to
10 ft-lbs, (see Picture B-P45).
Ensure that the inverter is disconnected prior to
disconnecting the auxiliary batteries.
NOTE:
Both the auxiliary batteries and engine battery are
charged by the inverter/charger when plugged in to shore
power or using the optional generator, and also whenever the
engine is running. The Battery Separator (Picture B-P37C)
performs this duty.
