The direction control valve has a 4-way, 3-position manual change valve (SMVH-43) to control
the operation of a double-acting cylinder.
By using the handle of the direction control valve, it is possible to stop the piston of the cylinder
in any position and to maintain the pressure. In the middle position, hydraulic oil discharged by
the pump returns to the oil tank. Looking from the front of the pump, discharge is performed to
port A when changed to the left, and discharge is performed to port B when changed to the right.
Example of Use: For the operation of a double-acting cylinder
Connect the high pressure hose and cylinder are connected as shown in the diagram.
Port A is connected to the push side and port B connected to the pull side.
1) Open the air valve.
2) Before operation, set the pressure switch to the required pressure.
3) Set the handle of the direction control valve to the middle position.
4) Turn on the operation switch to start the motor and allow to run so oil
circulates through the valve before returning to tank.
5) Move the direction control valve handle to the left side (port A).
The cylinder plunger will extend and pressure will rise until the required
operation is performed.
6) When pressure rises to the pressure setting of the pressure switch,
the motor stops but pressure is maintained at the level set on the SPS-7A
pressure switch. If the handle of the direction control valve is returned to
the middle position at this time, pressure at port A is maintained, If the motor
continues to operate, hydraulic oil continues to circulate through the valve
and back to tank.
7) When operation is complete, fully retract the cylinder piston and turn off the
operational switch.
8) Change directional valve handle to the opposite side to release pressure,
Return the directional valve handle back to the middle position.
9) Close the air valve.
