7. Preparation Before Use
The cylinder will not operate smoothly with air inside the hose or piping. Air should be released from
within the high pressure hose and the high pressure pipe using the method shown below.
(1)When Using a High Pressure Hose
1) Attach a mating coupler to the coupler on the high pressure hose from which air is to be released.
Example:
2) Prepare a container (ex. A pan) to receive the hydraulic oil.
3) For machine types which have a direction control valve attached, change the direction control
valve to the side of the high pressure hose for which air is to be released.
4) Perform inching of the motor.
Refer to page 23 of the “Operating Methods” section.
5) Air release is complete when hydraulic oil comes out of the coupler.
6) In the case of double-acting, perform the same procedures for both high pressure hoses.
7) After air release, check the amount of hydraulic oil in the tank. If the oil level is low, replenish
to the correct level on the dip stick.
8) To remove oil from a single acting cylinder, invert the cylinder, start the pump.
And fully extend the cylinder while inverted, then retract the cylinder fully.
Repeat this process several times in order to remove air from within the piston
and the high pressure hose.
(2) When Using High Pressure
Pipe
When installing the high pressure pipe,
attach an air release valve (SV-1000) to the tip of the pipe
1) Loosen the set screw of the air release valve by one turn.
2) For machine types which have a direction control valve attached, change the handle to the side
of the high pressure hose for which air is to be released.
3) : Hydraulic oil will flow out of the discharge holes of the air release valve.
Use a cloth or other suitable material to prevent dispersion of the oil.
4) Perform inching for the motor. Refer to page 23 of the “Operating Methods” section.
5) Air release is complete when hydraulic oil comes out of the discharge holes of the air release valve.
6) Tighten the set screw of the air release valve.
7) In the case of double-acting, perform the same procedures for the other high pressure pipe.
