8. Preventive Maintenance
(1)
Inspection of Items Before Operation
(A) : Turn off power, and inspect the cable for loose connections.
Tighten loose connections if it is found.
(B)With the cylinder piston fully retracted, check the dip stick to ensure the level of hydraulic
oil is normal. Replenish if the amount is low. Refer to (4) (B) “Changing Hydraulic Oil” on
the next page.
(C)Operate the control valve and extend the cylinder, to exert pressure. Inspect for malfunctions.
(D)Inspect for any leakage of oil from piping or the machine. Repair any leaks that are found.
(E)Confirm the other caution points listed in “Safety Cautions for Usage” on page 16.
(2)
Inspection of Items During Operation
Perform inspection for the items listed below. In the case of any malfunctions,
stop
operation
immediately
and
perform appropriate maintenance.
(A)Inspect for valve malfunctions or abnormal rises in pressure.
(B)Inspect for oil leaks from both piping or the motor pump.
(C)Listen for loud or abnormal sounds, check for vibrations or unusual odors.
(D)Ensure the oil temperature does not exceed 60 degrees Celsius while the pump is operating.
:
Do not place hands or other body parts near areas
where
high pressure
hydraulic oil is
being generated.
Oil may penetrate the skin and thus cause serious injury.
(3)
Inspection Items After Operation
(A)Ensure that power is turned off.
(B)Inspect for leakage of oil and other abnormalities. Perform maintenance as necessary.
(C)Clean up all equipment after use.
(4)
Changing Hydraulic Oil
(A)
As a general rule, hydraulic oil should be changed
once a year.
However, oil should be
changed more frequently in situations as listed below.
1) Dust is found to be mixed in the oil.
2) A strange odor is emitted.
3) Water has mixed with the oil which turns a milky-white color.
4) The oil has deteriorated and has become a brownish-black color.
(B)Method for Changing Hydraulic Oil
1) Remove the plug from the tank discharge port and allow the oil to drain from the oil tank.
2) Remove the 2 bolts (M6x14) that connect the main body of the pump to the oil tank.
Lift the main body of the pump away from the oil tank.
3) Clean and flush out the reservoir and clean the internal pump suction inlet.
4) Replace the plug into the discharge port and thoroughly tighten. Pour 2 liters of hydraulic
oil into the oil tank through the main body aperture.
5) Attach the main body of the pump to the oil tank not forgetting to fit the O-ring
(Structure Diagram No. 3) which seals the main body of the pump to the reservoir.
