Start-up, calibration and operation of the burner
6.4
Burner start-up
Turn off the remote controls and set the switch 1)(Fig. 34) to
“MAN”.
Check that the lamps or testers connected to the solenoid valves,
or the pilot lights on the solenoid valves, indicate that no voltage
is present. If they indicate the presence of voltage, stop the
burner immediately and check the electric connections.
6.5
Burner ignition
If the motor starts up, but the flame does not appear and the
control box goes into lockout, reset it and wait for a new ignition
attempt.
If ignition is still not achieved, it may be that gas is not reaching
the combustion head within the safety time period of 3 seconds.
In this case increase gas ignition flow rate.
The arrival of gas to the sleeve is indicated by the U-type
pressure gauge (Fig. 33).
Once ignition has taken place, proceed with burner global
calibration operations.
6.6
Change of fuel
There are two change of fuel options:
1
with selector 3)(Fig. 34);
2
with a remote selector connected to the main terminal
board.
Placing the selector 3)(Fig. 34) on EXT the function for selecting
the fuel remotely is active.
In this position, if there is no remote selector, the display shows
the priority fuel.
6.7
Combustion air adjustment
The fuel/combustion synchronization is made by means of a
servomotor connected to two variable profile cams, which act on
the outlet air damper 1) (Fig. 35) and the gas damper 2)(Fig. 35)
and, using special levers, on the combustion head.
It is advisable, to reduce the loss and for a wide calibration field,
to adjust the servomotor to the maximum of the output used, the
nearest possible to the maximum opening (130°).
On the gas butterfly valve, fuel step according to the burner
output required, with servomotor completely open, is carried out
by the pressure stabiliser placed on the train.
