Pump precautions
To prevent damage to the HortiJet pump, the HortiJet will stop and generate the
following alarm message:
Pump overheating.
Insufficient water supply.
The HortiJet pump has a temperature sensor. This sensor produces an alarm when the
water around the pump gets too hot.
The main irrigation pump ensures that water is supplied to the HortiJet. In the
HortiJet there is a pressure switch; this is set to 2.0 bar. If the supply pressure falls
below that limit, the pressure switch generates an alarm.
Consult the manual for the HortiJet pump to regulate the direction and bleed
air from the pump.

Using the dosing channels for the first time
Ridder Growing Solutions advises you to test the HortiJet first with water,
before using fertilizers and/or acid.
To prepare the dosing channels for use, complete the following steps:
1. Place the suction hoses into a bucket of fresh water and submerge them
completely.
2. Check that the manual valves for the inlet and outlet to the HortiJet are open.
3. Check that the pressure control valves are set correctly (see section
"Pressurizing the HortiJet" on page 37).
4. Test the dosing channels by irrigating briefly using the fertigation recipe.
5. Check for leaks. Rectify any leaks found.
6. Place the suction hoses in the correct fertilizer tank/acid tank.
Please exercise caution when working with acid.
