If defect is in area 2
1. Adjust the value in [Motor Speed: Fusing Belt] in "Custom Paper Settings" in steps of 1.0%
(max: 3.0%; min: -3.0%). Start by increasing the value.
For details about custom paper settings, ask the machine administrator.
2. Print another copy.
If defect is in area 3
1. If the paper length is greater than the long dimension of an A4/LT sheet but less than or equal
to 488mm (19.2 inches), adjust the value in [Motor Speed: Image Detection Feed Speed
Mode] in "Custom Paper Settings". Change the setting to a value not in effect when the
erroneous detection occurred.
2. If the paper length is less than or equal to the long dimension of an A4/LT sheet, decrease the
value in [Motor Speed: Decurler Switchback Roller] in "Custom Paper Settings" by 0.5%.
3. Load the paper with its other side face up.
4. Print another copy.
For details about custom paper settings, ask the machine administrator.
If defect is in area 4
1. Check whether the margin at the trailing edge of the paper is greater than or equal to 4.2mm
(0.2 inches).
2. In "Custom Paper Settings", set the value in [Margin: Trailing Edge] to 4.2 mm (0.2 inches) or
greater.
For details about custom paper settings, ask the machine administrator.
3. Print another copy.
4. If the print defect notification keeps appearing on the Image Quality Monitor console, regenerate
the Auto Color Diagnosis property.
5. Print a copy again.
Print defects keep being detected erroneously when using decurled paper.
Try one of the following procedures:
1. Decrease the values in [Adjust Paper Curl] in the advanced settings for custom paper adjustment
and [Correct Output Paper Curl] in Adjustment Settings for Operators.
2. Load paper on the paper tray faced up and set [Adjust Paper Curl (Fusing)] in the advanced
settings for custom paper adjustment to off.
3. Change the orientation of the printed copies from faced down to faced up.
4. Set [Threshold Settings] [Non-detection range] for the trailing edge of the paper (B) to 60.0 mm
( 2.4 inches).
