Thermal Motor Protection
Your Carpet Keeper is equipped with a safeguard to recognize when the applicator is running
too hot and shuts itself down to protect the motor. Running your applicator with the air vents
blocked or getting a small object like a sock wrapped around one of the brushrolls preventing
it from spinning freely are the most common causes for overheating.
• Turn off the applicator and unplug the power cord.
• Inspect the applicator brushrolls for a jammed object and remove it.
• Locate the thermal motor reset button on the bottom of the nozzle. Press the reset
button. Plug in the power cord and turn the applicator on.
• If the applicator fails to turn on, return it to an Authorized Riccar Retailer for
service.
