III. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
When using electric tools basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce
the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury including the following.
Read all these instructions before attempting to operate this product
Keep these instructions for future reference and use them to train others who may use the tool. If you
lend or pass the tool, ensure to attach these instructions so that any user can refer to them.
3.1- General safety instructions
1. Consider work area environment
- Do not use and do not expose tool to rain, moisture or humidity.
Water entering a tool may increase the risk of electrical hazard and damage.
- Work only if there is good lighting (i.e. sunlight or sufficient artificial light).
- Beware of your stability when working on wet, frozen ground or slopes.
2. Guard against electric shock
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerators).
Do not use the tiller close to underground electric cables.
3. Keep other persons away
- Do not let persons, especially children, not involved in the work touch the tool or its power cord or
the extension cord and keep them away from the work area.
- Any distraction can make you lose control of the tool.
If someone calls you, stop the tiller before turning towards the caller.
- Only operator or user must be in working area. Keep children, animals and spectators at a safe
distance
- Keep the product away from children or from their environment. Never allow children to operate
the tool. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool.
4. Store idle tools
When not in use, tool should be stored in a dry locked-up place, out of reach of children.
5. Do not force the tool
It will do the job better and safer at the rate and use for which it was intended.
6. Use the right tool
- Do not force small tools to do the job of a heavy duty tool.
- Do not use tool for purposes not intended or for unsuitable purposes
- Only use the machine for the purposes described in the instruction manual
7. Dress properly – Wear proper working clothing!
- Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery; they can be caught in moving parts.
- Rubber gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended when working outdoors.
- Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
8. Use protective equipment
- Use safety glasses or goggles
- Use face or dust protection mask if working operations create dust.
- The noise level in the working area is above 85 dB(A).
Therefore, wear ear protection (to avoid hearing loss hazard)
9. Do not abuse the power cord
- Do not use the cable for any purpose it has not been designated for.
- Do not use the cable for carrying or hanging of the machine.
- Do not use the cable to pull out the plug from the socket.
- Never yank the cord to disconnect it from the socket.
- Protect the cable from excessive temperatures, oil, and sharp edges.
- Protect the power cable from any damage the cable may be damaged by oil or acid
- Caution! A damaged power cord increases the risk of electric hazard.
10. Do not overreach
