Movement Detector BW 1000 PS
Mounting and operation
General information
The REV movement detector BW 1000 PS is an electronic on/off switch.
It reacts to changements of heat radiation in its detecting range.
The different heat sources are recognized and analysed with the help of passive-infrared-
technique.
Switching function:
It can be switched incandescent lamps as well as tabular fluorescent lamps etc.
When a person gets into the detecting range the BW 1000 PS switches on the connected
appliances by means of a relay. As long as the person moves within the detection range,
the relay stays switched on. If the person is leaving the detecting range or stands still, it will
switch off after the period adjusted before.
Animals will be recognized as heat sources possibly rain drops as well (heat displacement)
or branches moving in the wind.
After each switching off the BW 1000 PS needs an activation time of 2 sec approx.
Setting possibilities
Switching on period can be regulated stepless between 2 sec and 20 min approx. with the
time regulator.
The brightness from which on the appliance is switching on and off can be chosen between
approx. 2 lx. (dark) and 1000 lx. (bright).
The detecting range of BW 1000 PS is adjustable by means of ball and socket joint
va - 40° in the horizontal and 60° in the vertikal direction.
Mounting
The BW 1000 PS must be firmly installed to the wall. Reaction to vibrations are the same
as to heat movement within the detecting range.
The installation area must fulfil the following conditions:
1. It must be possible for the rays of the BW 1000 PS to reach the intented survey range
(see plots to the detecting range, page 9).
2. The path to the detecting range must not be impeded, as infrared rays cannot pass
through solid objects.
3. The BW 1000 PS should possibly be protected against rain and strong wind as well as
direct sun shine.
