Speed control

Heat qty. measurement

Adjustment channel for the heat transfer fluid in use.
If “Ethylene” or “Propylene” are selected, the adjustment
channel “Antifreeze ratio” appears in the next menu line.

Antifr.  type

Options: “Tyfo LS”, “Ethylene”, “Propylene”, “Water”
Factory setting: “Tyfo LS“

Antifreeze  ratio

Adjustment range: 20 ... 70 %
Factory setting: 40 %

Adjustment channel for the volume share of the antifreeze
agent (ethylene or propylene) in the heat transfer fluid.
The share of antifreeze agent in the water-ethylene-, resp.
water-propylene mixture should not exceed 50 %.

The pump station is equipped with all components required
for a heat quantity measurement.
The thermal capacity of the heat transfer fluid is taken into
account upon calculating the heat quantity. Thus, the heat
transfer fluid in use and, if applicable, the ratio of the an-
tifreeze agent must be entered for a precise heat quantity
measurement.

Adjustment of the speed control mode.
If the “Speed control” is set to “Off”, no automatic speed
control takes place. The pump is operated at the adjusted
minimum speed.
If “Speed control” is set to “Diff.”, speed control will adjust
to the temperature difference between the flow and return
sensors, the so-called

D

T. The adjustment channels “

D

Tset”

and “Rise” appear in the next menu lines. The value “

D

Tset”

determines, at which

D

T the pump speed is increased for

the first time. The value “Rise” determines, at which change
of the

D

T the pump speed is adjusted again.

If “Speed control” is set to “Aim”, speed control will ad-
just to the flow temperature. The adjustment channels “T
flowset” and “Rise” appear in the next menu lines. The value
“T flowset” determines, at which flow temperature the
pump speed is increased for the first time. The value “Rise”
determines, at which change of the flow temperature the
pump speed is adjusted again.

Adjustment  channel  for  the  minimum  pump  speed.
Observe the specifications of the pump and the collector
manufacturer when adjusting the minimum pump speed.
If the flow rate remains below 100 l/h at the adjusted mi-
nimum pump speed, the controller will increase the pump
speed until the flow rate surpasses 100 l/h.

D

Tset

Adjustment range: 0 ... 50 K
Factory setting: 10 K

T flowset

Adjustment range: 20 ... 90 °C
Factory setting: 65 °C

Rise

Adjustment range: 0.2 ... 20.0 K
Factory setting:  1.0 K (HE pump)

2.0 K (standard pump)

If “Speed control” is set to “Aim”, this adjustment channel ap-
pears. The value “T flowset” determines, at which flow tem-
perature the pump speed is increased for the first time.

If “Speed control” is set to “Diff.”, this adjustment channel
appears. The value “

D

Tset” determines, at which

D

T the

pump speed is increased for the first time.

The value “Rise” determines, at which change of the

D

resp. the flow temperature (depending on the speed control
mode) the pump speed is adjusted again.

The submenu “Speed control” consists of the following
functions and options.

Speed  control

Adjustment range: Off, Diff., Aim
Factory setting: Diff.

Note:
Regardless of the speed control mode selected,
any  speed  adjustment  will  remain  until  the  sy-
stem  volume  has  been  circulated  completely.
Only after a complete circulation will the next
adjustment be made, if the temperature or tem-
perature  difference  has  changed  in  the  mean-
time.

Min.  speed

Adjustment range:  10 ... 100 % (HE pump)

  30 ... 100 % (standard pump)

Factory setting:    20 % (HE pump)

  30 % (standard pump)
