The DCF signal is encoded and transmitted via a DCF transmitter
in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am Main). Its range covers up to
1500 km and, and under ideal reception conditions, even up to
2000 km.
Among other things, the DCF signal includes the precise time
(theoretically, a deviation of one second in a million years!) and
the date.
Naturally, this also eliminates the hassle of manually setting up
summer and winter times.
Manual DCF reception attempt
• To perform a manual search for the DCF signal (e.g. when you have changed the location of the
radio wall clock), press the button REC (2) and hold it for about three seconds.
• Then release the button REC (2) again.
• Accordingly a manual reception attempt will be started and the DCF symbol (5) flashes. Then,
as described above, wait until the current time is displayed and the DCF symbol (5) is displayed
permanently.
• Press the button REC (2) again for about three seconds to cancel the manual DCF reception at-
tempt.
Setting the time manually
The manual time setting is required if the radio wall clock is operated outside of the DCF
reception range or if the DCF reception is disturbed due to environmental conditions.
• Press the TIME SET button (1) for about three seconds, until the indicator of year in the LC dis-
play flashes.
• Set the year by pressing the button REC (2).
• To confirm, press briefly the TIME SET button (1) and set up one by one the month, date, hour,
and minute with the button REC (2).
• Press briefly the TIME SET button (1) after each set-up to confirm the input.
• Set the display language for the indicator of the day of the week by pressing the button REC (2):
GER = German
FRE = French
ITA = Italian
ESP = Spanish
NED = Dutch
DAN = Danish
ENG = English
• Press briefly the TIME SET button (1) to confirm.
During the setting process, you can keep pressing the button REC (2) to perform a faster
change of the values.
When no button is pressed for 30 seconds, the clock returns to the previous display.
Display features
Press the REC (2) button briefly to rearrange the format of the date display (month/day or day/
month).
