Notes on Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not let batteries/rechargeable batteries lie around openly. There is a risk of bat-
teries being swallowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor
immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries may cause acid burns when
coming into contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves.
• Normal/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a
fire. There is a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, due to risk of explosion! Only
charge rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable
battery charger.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery/rechargeable battery
(pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).

DCF Reception
The reception attempt for the daily automatic synchronisation with the DCF time is
done several times a day. One successful reception per day is sufficient to keep the
deviation to less than one second.
In Germany, the DCF signal is encoded and transmitted
1500 km
2000 km
via a DCF transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am
Main). Its range is up to 1500 km and, under ideal recep-
tion conditions, even up to 2000 km.
Among other things, the DCF signal includes the precise
time (theoretical deviation of 1 second in a million years!)
and the date.
Naturally, this also eliminates the hassle of manually set-
ting summer and winter times.
If your delivered watch does not yet display the correct time, the reception of the time
signal has to be triggered manually.
Manual Reception Attempt
• Press button A (1) until the DCF symbol (3) starts to flash on the display.
• The better the DCF reception is, the more segments are shown above the DCF sym-
bol (3). Position the watch in a place so that as many segments as possible are
displayed.
• The hands adjust themselves automatically to the current time after a successful
reception of the time signal and the DCF symbol (3) appears permanently in the dis-
play.
The manual reception attempt can be cancelled by pressing button A (1)
again (press and hold for 2 seconds).
The detection of the time signal and its evaluation can last a few minutes. Do
not move the watch during this time. Do not use any buttons!
Bad reception can occur, for example, by metallised insulated glass, rein-
forced concrete buildings, coated special wallpapers, proximity to electron-
ic devices, or installation in cellars.
If the DCF symbol in the display (3) goes out after the reception attempt,
change the reception location for the watch and restart the reception at-
tempt, as described above.
