There are multiple options to access books and news. Libraries are offering audiobooks on
CD, SD or USB. You can also download DAISY content from the internet on a computer.

The i-Speak offers a CD player, USB and SD card reader to listen to your content anytime,
and it remembers where you stopped listening. The handle, large buttons and assistive
messages make the device very user friendly.

The device is battery operated and is supplied with a mains adapter to power the device or
charge the battery. An automatic power-down and sleep timer prevent unnecessary battery
discharge. Headphone or Earbuds can be used without others listening in.

Installation

Check the contents of the box.

Let the i-Speak and its parts acclimatise to room temperate before using them. The
installation procedure is supported with some drawings, which are located in the

quick

reference guide

Verify if the power adapter mains head is suitable for your area and replace it when
necessary.

Rotate the i-Speak with the bottom side facing upwards, so the battery cover becomes
visible. A battery insulating tab near the battery cover prevents the battery from
discharging when it comes out of the factory. Remove this insulating tab by pulling it out. It
is not required to open and remove the battery cover.

Next, place the device on a stable hard covered desk to prevent the cd player from falling
or stuttering audio. Always place the handle facing away from you. It allows you to load the
CDs from the front.

Connect the power adapter cable plug into the device’s DC input before connecting the
adapter to the mains socket. Make sure that you can remove the adapter from the mains at
any time.

The light indicator in the on-off button will emit blue light, which indicates it is charging.
When it is off or blinking, please check if you have removed the battery insulation tab.
Now, the i-Speak is ready to use.
