The back of the drive shaft must be lubricated on a regular basis. Lubricate the shaft when the amount of water that
leaks into the hull is higher than usual and/or when the motor makes an unusual noise.
Remove the shaft on a regular basis. Detach the arm in the hull (see fig. 11), and then pull the shaft out of the back of
the boat. Clean the shaft and lubricate it with a thin layer of biodegradable lubricant (C). Replace the shaft by following
the above steps in the reverse order.
Metal screw connections must be secured with lock nuts or a drop of thread-locking fluid to prevent them
from becoming loose.
