c) Driving
• Never drive without an oiled air filter.
Check whether the air filter used is firmly attached to the carburettor and sufficiently oiled before every run.
Only a well-oiled air filter can prevent finest dust particles from getting into the motor and causing motor
damage.
Clean the air filter regularly (wash out in petrol) or replace it with a new air filter in time. The air filter (like the
tyres) is a wear part.
If the air filter is not oiled sufficiently, fine dust particles will pass through the air filter‘s foam. These particles
act like fine abrasive paper in the motor. After only a short time, the motor will lose compression. This causes
loss of performance, and eventually the motor cannot be started anymore.
A motor damaged by this is not subject to guarantee/warranty!
• Check the vehicle for damage before every run; replace worn tyres.
• Check all screw connections and attachments before and after each run, as these may come off or loosen due to
engine vibrations during driving.
• The range of the transmitter decreases when the batteries (or rechargeable batteries) are weak. A weak receiver
battery in the vehicle prevents powerful servo operation. Before going on a drive, check the charge condition of the
rechargeable batteries or batteries.
Check the receiver power supply before and after every drive. If the voltage is too low, the servos will only show
weak reactions, so that the vehicle will no longer react to the control commands from the transmitter. The receiver
may also show unpredictable responses.
Terminate the drive at once if the reaction of the receiver system is not as desired. First switch off the motor, then
switch off the receiver power supply and last the transmitter. Then replace the batteries/rechargeable batteries or
recharge rechargeable batteries.
• Do not use any batteries for power supply of the servo or the receiver, but only a suitable receiver rechargeable
battery. Specifically the steering servo has a high power intake.
• Improper operation can cause serious damage to people and property! Only drive with the model directly in view.
This is why you shouldn’t drive at night.
Only drive when your ability to react is unimpaired. Tiredness or the influence of alcohol or medication can cause
incorrect responses, just as with real vehicles.
• The motor and exhaust pipe become very hot in operation. Do not touch them. Danger of burns! Never reach into
the drive and do not insert any objects in it! Danger of injury!
• Never touch the ignition cable or spark plug connector when the motor runs; the pending high voltage causes a
danger to life!
• The model is only designed for use outside of closed rooms. The exhausts are harmful to health! Never operate the
combustion engine in closed rooms, not even for test purposes.
• Please note that this model car must not be driven on public roads, places or streets. Also do not operate it on
private grounds without the owner‘s permission.
• Don’t drive towards animals or people!
• Don’t drive in the rain, through wet grass, water, mud or snow. The model is not waterproof or watertight.
