9. Setting Up the Transmitter
In the further course of these instructions, figures in the text always refer to the adjacent figure or the figures
within the section. References to other figures are indicated with the corresponding figure number.
a) Inserting the Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries
The transmitter is supplied with power by 8 AA alkaline batteries (e.g. Conrad item no.: 652507, pack of 4, order 2) or
mignon size rechargeable batteries (AA). For ecological and economical reasons it is recommended to use rechargeable
batteries, since they can be recharged in the transmitter through the built-in charging socket.
Proceed as follows to insert the batteries or rechargeable
batteries:
The battery compartment lid (1) is located on the back of
the transmitter. Press the corrugated area (2) and push off
the lid downwards.
Now insert 8 batteries or rechargeable batteries in the battery
compartment. Always make sure the polarity of the batteries
is correct. A corresponding note (3) is located on the bottom
of the battery compartment.
Then out the cover of the battery compartment back on and
let it snap into place.
The control signals can be taken from the trainer socket
(see figure 2, item 4) via an optional connection cable to
connect, e.g. to the teacher transmitter or the flight simulator
interface.
b) Charging Rechargeable Batteries in the Transmitter
For operation with rechargeable batteries you can connect
a charging cable (not included in the supply) to the charging
socket (1) and charge the rechargeable batteries in the
transmitter when the transmitter is switched off.
Always make sure the polarity of the connecting plug is
correct.
The inner contact of the charging socket must be connected
to the plus terminal (+) and the outer contact to the minus
terminal (-) of the charger.
The charging current should be about 1/10 of the capacity
of the inserted rechargeable batteries. For rechargeable
batteries with a capacity of 2000 mAh, this corresponds to a
charging current of approx. 200 mA and charging time takes
approx. 14 h.
