c) Programming the Special Functions
Programming of special functions is only possible with the optional programming card (not included, avail-
able as an accessory)
Proceed as follows for programming:
• Switch off the speed controller and pull the speed controller plug from the receiver.
Remember the correct orientation and position of the plug in the receiver!
• Connect the speed controller plug to the programming card. Observe the right polarity of the plug: (black =
minus /-).
• Connect the speed controller to the driving battery and switch on the speed controller. The LEDs on the program-
ming card are lit one after another and the motor emits a tone signal (”DO-RE-MI”).
Once all the data are read the LEDs light according to the existing programming and the motor emits 5 beeps.
• You can now make settings as desired by pressing the corresponding buttons on the programming card, an LED
shows the corresponding setting:
The following setting options are available:
"Reverse Power”
To switch reverse off through to max reverse speed, ”OFF” = reverse off, ”LO” = slow, ”MI” = medium and ”HI” = fast.
“Start Power”
With this settings option you can determine the starting power of the motor: “Standard” = Normal, “LO”, “MI” and “HI”
for more power (“HI” = maximum).
The higher the setting, the more strain is put on the drive (gear, differential). When the ground has a good grip, a lower
setting should therefore be used. When the ground is loose, a higher torque is sensible for faster acceleration.
"Drag Brake”
A conventional electric motor (with brushes/carbon) already develops a certain degree of motor-braking strength due
to the magnets it contains – this is much weaker in brushless motors.
If you cut off the engine at the transmitter and/or move the throttle/brake lever into the neutral position, the vehicle will
slow down by itself. The effect is thus exactly like that of the motor-braking function in a “real” car when you release the
accelerator without stepping on the brake pedal.
The strength of the braking effect can be adjusted (the higher the value set the greater the effect of the motor brake
function). “OFF” = off, “LO” = low, “MI” = middle, “HI” = maximum
