If you want to connect a 2-cell LiPo battery, you have to reprogram the speed controller with the optionally
available programming card (not included in the delivery; must be ordered separately)! Only then will the
undervoltage protection for LiPo-batteries (3.0 V per cell) be activated!
Pull off the two safety clips (1) and lift off the retainer (2). At
the rear end, the rod is only plugged in below the shock
tower (3).
Insert the battery pack into the chassis with the connection
cables pointing towards the front axle.
Depending on the shape of the battery pack, remove foam
boards from the battery compartment.
Reattach the retainer (2) and insert it below the shock tower
(3). Fasten the retainer (2) using the previously removed
safety clips (1).
f) Connecting the Driving Battery to the Speed Controller
First switch off the speed controller. Put the On/Off switch
(see circle in the figure to the right) into the “OFF” position
for this.
Then switch on the transmitter (see chapter 8. c) and d).
To prevent a sudden starting of the wheels and therefore an uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the
trimming for the drive is maladjusted), place the model vehicle on a suitable surface (or starting box), so
that the wheels can turn freely in case of an error.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
Now connect the driving battery to the speed controller. Ensure correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black cable =
minus/-).
g) Switching on the Speed Controller
Put the on/off switch of the speed controller (see chapter 8. f) in the “ON” position. Then wait for a few seconds (leave
the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter in the neutral position; do not move it). In this time, the speed controller
recognises the neutral position of the transmitter’s throttle/brake lever.
The motor emits several confirmation tones to indicate that it is ready for use. now check the drive and steering
function of the vehicle.
If the drive of the vehicle starts although the throttle/brake on the transmitter is in the neutral position, then
adjust the trim on the transmitter until the engine stops. If the trim is not enough, then it is necessary to
programme the neutral position, see chapter 10.
