Check that the following parts are included in the pack before installing the auto dialler/distress alarm:
1 x Red Shield Auto Dialler/Distress Alarm
1 telephone connection
1 mains adapter
1 installation and operating instructions booklet
The Red Shield Auto Dialler/Distress Alarm discretely sends a recorded message to up to eight preset
telephone numbers (the first two are prioritised numbers) when the unit is tripped. The dialler’s built-in
microphone and speaker allow the called persons to listen and talk to the alarmed household and thereby
obtain a better picture of the emergency situation.
The dialler/distress alarm can be used as a stand-alone unit or in combination with Red Shield Home
Alarm, which means that the unit is activated when the system’s Smart Panel is tripped by one of its
sensors.
The dialler can be activated in three different ways:
When Red Shield Home Alarm is tripped and sends an alarm activation signal
When the panic buttons
and
on the dialler keypad are pressed at the same time
When the red emergency button on the panic remote control is pressed.
Read through these Operating Instructions to install and use the dialler correctly. Instructions for
programming the dialler are given in the quick-start guide.
NOTE.
The alarm must be connected directly to a telephone line (with separate telephone number) in a public
telephone network with a tone frequency of 450 Hz +/- 20 Hz. A telephone jack of the standard type is
supplied for this connection.
This equipment cannot be used for party lines, coin-operated telephone lines, ISDN connections, or local
switchboards run by housing or telephone company networks.
